FAQs

Reynolds Custom Woodworks

  • How do we get started?

To initiate the process, we require some basic information. Please provide approximate dimensions of your space, measured to the nearest inch. This should include window widths from trim to trim. If you're maintaining your current layout, measurements of your existing cabinetry will suffice. A hand-drawn bird's-eye view of your kitchen with these dimensions is ideal for our initial assessment.
  • Do you come to my house to measure?

Absolutely. Prior to beginning any construction, we conduct an on-site visit to take precise field measurements. This step is crucial to ensure accuracy in our custom work.
  • How does the design process work?

Once we have your space dimensions and preferences, we begin creating designs. We typically produce 3-4 different layouts, exploring various appliance placements and work station configurations. Our designs often introduce innovative layout options that clients may not have previously considered for their kitchens.
  • How much will it all cost?

Providing an accurate cost estimate requires comprehensive information about your specific project. Each kitchen is unique, reflecting individual needs and preferences. After gathering all necessary details and generating initial designs, we can provide you with a preliminary quote.
  • Do I need to find someone to install my custom cabinetry?

Not necessarily. We handle the installation for 95% of the kitchens we build. Our custom cabinets are designed with installation in mind, built to maximize storage and minimize seams. If you prefer to use your own contractor or a third party for installation, we can communicate directly with them to ensure a smooth process.
  • Can you fix my existing cabinetry?

We apologize, but we do not offer repair services for existing cabinetry. Our focus is on creating and installing new custom cabinets.
  • What are my paint color options?

We offer color matching for any shade from major paint manufacturers. To ensure your satisfaction, we provide a color sample for your approval before proceeding.
  • What are your custom cabinets made out of?

Our cabinet boxes are constructed from pre-finished maple plywood, regardless of the final finish. We use 3/4" plywood for sides, tops, bottoms, and shelves, with 1/2" plywood for backs. Clear-coated doors are solid wood, while painted door frames are maple with MDF panels to prevent cracking. All face frames are solid wood, and our dovetailed drawer boxes are maple with 3/8" bottoms for durability.
  • Will my dishes fit in your inset cabinetry?

Yes, our upper cabinetry is designed to accommodate standard dishware. Our standard upper cabinets are 13" deep, providing 11 1/2" of internal space. As a custom cabinet shop, we can adjust depths to meet your specific needs.
  • Do you have anything in stock?

As a custom cabinet shop, we do not maintain a stock inventory. Each piece we create is specifically designed and built for a particular client and project.
